YEP: How did you decide on a career in real estate? What's the best part of your job? What's the hardest?
CD: I started my career in real estate in 2012, while I was pregnant with my daughter. It was supposed to just be temporary while I was interviewing for marketing jobs around Erie.
YEP: Outside or YEP, how else are you involved in the community?
CD: I'm involved in the community through my co-chair position with Athena Circle of Trust, an organization that promotes and supports women in leadership positions, and through various volunteering roles. I'm also very involved with Rolling Ridge PTO.
YEP: How have you been keeping busy during the shutdown?
CD: Unfortunately, the shut down has deemed real estate "nonessential", so I haven't been allowed to do any work outside of my home. I have tried to be very active on social media to keep in constant contact with my clients, and to provide a source of positivity during this crazy time. That's where the idea for #ErieChalkWalk started. A friend of mine in Virginia did a similar contest and we participated in this contest for years during college. I just wanted to give Erie a reason to get outside and have some fun with their families. I awarded $100 in local gift cards to 9 different winners.
YEP: What's the first thing you want to do when the quarantine is completely lifted?
CD: As soon as this quarantine is over, I am heading out to show some more homes! I am anxious to get back to work and I know my clients are still excited to buy and sell. This too shall pass and we will all still need housing.
