Megan Kelly moved to Erie in 2018 to take on the newly-created role of Community Programs Manager for the Erie Philharmonic. For the past three years, Megan has worked to advance the Philharmonic's educational mission by expanding the Junior Philharmonic, Philharmonic Chorus, Junior Philharmonic Chorus, and other outreach programs. Comfortable working with youth, collegiate, and adult musicians, she has worked on over 60 performances, including free community performances, a two-week concert tour of New Zealand, and mainstage concerts at the Warner Theatre featuring world-class, Grammy-winning guest artists.
Her goal of increasing access to quality music performances and education in the region is bolstered by the work she does in overseeing marketing, development, operations, finances, and more for these ensembles. Originally from Dillsburg, PA, Megan appreciates Erie's strong sense of community and dedication to the arts. She believes that participation in the arts empowers people to trust in the power of their voice, and is excited to apply this concept to her committee role by helping young professionals build relationships and affect their communities.
Megan holds a B.A. degree in Communication Arts with a minor in Psychology from Allegheny College. When she is not at rehearsals or performances, she can be found continuing to learn about the world through cooking, singing, reading, and listening to podcasts.
