A Message from the President

An Erie Regional Chamber & Growth Partnership Organization

June 23, 2016

This month marks the midway point of my two-year term as President of the Young Erie Professionals, so I thought it appropriate to address you; to let you know where we are, and where we are headed.
First, let me start by saying thank you. It is an honor and privilege to serve as President of this wonderful organization, now coming into its sixteenth year. Without your continued participation and investment we wouldn't be here today.

This past year has been one of historic transformation. From our recent merger with the Erie Regional Chamber & Growth Partnership, to rolling out new programs, and to gearing up for the largest ever Kickball for Kids Tournament, we are poised to greatly increase our impact in the community. In a sense YEP is quickly maturing into an organization of great breadth and opportunity, and I can say that I am extremely excited for what the next year will bring.
We have several new people in leadership roles, so please let me take a moment to share with you the great team that will help to continue to move YEP forward:
As we look ahead, mentorship & volunteer programs are a top priority for the organization. It is our goal to make sure we continue to grow membership while building additional value for YEP members. To do so, we need your help. By volunteering your support and participation in one our committees listed above and encouraging your friends/colleagues to join YEP, together we can make a difference.
There is a lot of work ahead, and we've got a great team. If you've been on the fence about joining or rejoining, or maybe you joined a while ago and never really got involved beyond the occasional networking event, I ask you to please reach out to one of us on the Steering Committee. We are all here for you, as we continue to strive to make Erie a great place to live, work and play.
The time is now.

Most Sincerely,

Christopher M. Arkwright

YEP Relay For Life Team

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Let's fight cancer together. All are invited to walk with the Young Erie Professionals at the Relay for Life this year. The Relay for Life of Erie/Millcreek event benefits the American Cancer Society. It will be at Jerry Uht Park on Saturday, June 25 from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Members of our team will take turns walking around the track. You can sign up for the whole day, just a few hours, or even 30 minutes if that's what fits into your schedule. The event will feature food, games and activities as well as special experiences such as the Survivors Lap and Luminaria Ceremony.

We would like to have many YEP members and friends represented at the event. We will have a tent on the grounds, and walkers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets/towels to sit on throughout the day.

For more information, to join our team, or to make a donation, please visit our team page. RSVP to our Facebook event for any updates by clicking here.

If you have any questions, please email Lindsey Scutella.
